STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE PRIVATE LESSONS ON A DAILY BASIS

EVERY LESSON IS DESIGNED TO SUIT THE STUDENT’S NEEDS AND OBJECTIVES

REGARDING PIANO LESSONS, EACH STUDENT WILL HAVE A PIANO AT HIS DISPOSITION FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS PER DAY

QUALITY FOOD


The quality of the food served to the students is essential. The meals are tasty and diversified, with lots of fruits and vegetables. The school’s chef and his team wish to create a well-balanced diet. Particular dishes can be made for vegetarians or students with food allergies.

A fruit basket is always available for in-betweens.

The full board lodging formula includes breakfast, lunch, alernoon snack and evening meal.

Amidst nature. The complex is composed of small lodges scanered among a private park of 30 acres. Students can enjoy the amazing natural setting and (enjoy) the quietness

During leisure times, football and basketball grounds, table tennis and table football facilites, and various board games can be used by the students.

FLUTE LESSONS

BERTEN D'HOLLANDER

Berten D’Hollander is part of the teaching staff of the Lemmensins_tuut (Leuven). As a soloist, he’s regularly performing abroad (China, USA, Finland, Romania, Poland…). He is also anending various European music festivals: Warsaw Autumn in Poland, the Clef du Soleil in Lille, Acanthes in Metz, Ars Musica in Brussels.

He performed and recorded musical pieces, some of them composed especially for him, by Giraud, Dumitrescu, Swerts, Avram, Van Herck, Ledoux… He is himself a composer. Since 2003, he is the appointed flautist of the ensemble Musiques Nouvelles.

PHILIPPE KOCH

Born into a musical family, Koch graduated from the Conservatoire Royal in Liège, where he is now teaching. First Konzertmeister at the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, he is also developing his career as a soloist, with concerts throughout Europe, Japan, USA and South America. He appears on stage with various ensembles: Trio Grumiaux, Quatuor Louvigny and the Brussels String Quartet for which he is the first violin. His discography amounts to more than 25 CDs and includes pieces ranging from Mozart to Bussoq.

He is a regular member of the jury at international competitions; he was for instance in the preselection jury for the 2009 Queen Elisabeth Competiton.

Winner of the Henry Vieuxtemps competition in 1986, Eric Melon performed both as a soloist and in chamber music in various European countries. He trained at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatorium, at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and at the Conservatoire de Liège. He recorded many CD’s and is now teaching violin at the Conservatoire de Liège

Didier Poskin also comes from a musical family. Aler studying at the Brussel Royal Conservatory (of Brussels,) he is accepted at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel where he is trained by Edmond Baert, who considered him one his most talented followers.

He further developed his skills with Walter Grimmer in Zurich, with Maurice Gendron in Paris and with the Quatuor Amadeus at the Musikhochschule in Cologne (from Köln). He also anended masterclasses with Pierre Fournier, Reine Flachot, Daniel Chafran, Frans Helmerson and Wolfgang Boettcher - among others.

Il joue, en qualité de violoncelle solo, dans l'Orchestre royal philharmonique de Flandre puis s’oriente vers la musique de chambre en intégrant le Quatuor Verdi à Cologne avec lequel il parcourt le monde et enregistre nombre de compositions majeures, notamment l'intégrale des quatuors de Schubert.

Aujourd'hui, il partage ses activités entre l'enseignement et les concerts en soliste ou en musique de chambre.

MARINELA DOKO

Marinela Doko, born in Vlorë (Albania), began her musical studies in her hometown before joining the Fine Arts Academy of Tirana, under the direction (lead) of Muharrem Denizi and Gëzim Laro. She carried on her training at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussel

Marinela Doko was cello solo for the Tirana orchestra of young virtuoso, worked for the Albanian Radio Orchestra, the Wallonia Royal Chamber Orchestra and National Orchestra of Belgium.

She is now teaching at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and at the Conservatory of Namur. She is regularly appearing on stage as a soloist and chamber-music player in Belgium and France.

Jean Schils was trained at the Conservatory of Liège by Marcelle Mercenier and received a Virtuoso Prize from the Belgium Government. He also benefitted from Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden valued advice at the Centre européen des hautes études musicales.

After several years leading the Academy of Seraing, he is now part of the teaching staff at the Royal Conservatory of Liège.

Highly acclaimed, he received quite a number of international prizes, for example the First Prize of the Johann Sebastian Bach Competition of Paris.He intends to enlarge his repertoire, sometimes exploring even quite unexpected ways.

Danièle Van Os is a laureate of competitions at home and abroad where she was praised for her musicality, timbre and personal interpretation.

She studied at the Lemmens Institute in Godelieve Monden and Aram Van Ballaert. Afterwards she went to Vienna and studied till 2013 Postgraduate Guitar at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Alexander Swete. She followed several masterclasses in Belgium and abroad with Konrad Ragossnig, Alvaro Pierri, Jorgos Panetsos, Carlo Marchione…

Besides solo works, she likes to play chamber music. She plays in a unique duo piccolo and guitar with Anke Lauwers and is member of the Erasmus Ensemble. Previously, she performed with flute, piano, cello, recorder, tenor, soprano, in guitar duo, trio and quartet.

Philippe Doyen Trained at the jazz department of the Brussel Conservatory (of Brussel, jazz department) but also graduated from the University of Liège with a Master in Musicology, Philippe Doyen is now teaching guitar lessons and jazz harmony at the Academy of Amay. He is also professor of methodology at the Conservatory of Brussel (jazz section) and of practical harmony at the Conservatory of Liège.

A versatile artist, he diversifies his musical experiences: from classical to contemporary music, with blues, progressive rock, jazz and chanson in between. Philippe Doyen worked with various Belgian and foreign artists: Clarika, André Borbé, Miamonstermiam, Sophie Galet, Street Big Band, Musta Largo, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, Thierry Crommen, Rhoda Scott…

He is founding member and conductor of La Valse de l’Héliport, a musical ensemble of variable composition. He has also vivid interest for writing.

Professor of vocal jazz at the Academies of Amay and Marchienne-au-Pont but also of classical saxophone at the Conservatory of Ciney, Julie Dumieu, AKA Julie Roses, succeeds in creating a bridge between jazz, her original field, and the best French chanson has to offer.

“Julie has been walking through the country’s musical stages for quite some time now. If she is, more than everything else, a voice – and what a voice – she is definitely much of a multidimensional artist who (revels) successes in creating peculiar universes / atmospheres” (Luc Pieltain). Her last album, Les Pieds dans le Plat, has been highly acclaimed both by the critics and the public.
